Ashley Hannigan is a normal kid with normal kid expectations. She has a normal kid grades, normal kid detentions, a normal kid boyfriend, and a normal kid family. Ashley doesn’t care about the prom, until one day the cops come to Ashley’s math class and find out that Miss Crane stole the prom money. This forces Ashley to help her best friends reorganize the prom. She’s got her prom crazed, pregnant mom planning her outfit and her boyfriend planning to move into an apartment together when Ashley graduates. But, with her detentions multiplying and her grades slipping, will all of her prom plans come true?

Prom is a wonderful book that has a unique point of view. There aren’t any other books in a series with Prom, but there are many other hit books by this author. This book is a definite page turner. This makes it quick to read because you want to find out what happens in the end.

I would recommend this book to all the “normal” kids who love a good read. I would also recommend it to anyone that’s read and liked one of Laurie Halse Anderson’s books. This book is perfect if you can relate to the “normal kid” life style. Prom will keep you on the edge of your seat until you find out what happens at the Carceras school prom.
